Astrology
Astrology is the ancient system that correlates life on Earth with the ever-changing patterns of the sky. It is humanity's most enduring psychological tool, defining personality and delineating the shifting cycles of individual lives. The daily, weekly or monthly horoscopes are just a tip of the iceberg. Astrology has been studied for millennia, and it dates back as far as recorded history. Earlier people who predicted the future or studied astrology were priests and scholars, and they were looked up to as doctors and learned men. The person with good knowledge of the stars can help you understand the situation of the present and how future unfolds. The signs can also be studied in relation to elements like fire, earth, air and water.
Astrologers create charts called horoscopes, divided into twelve sections, commonly known as the signs of the Zodiac, which include Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
Each planet represents basic human drives, and each sign represents a set of human characteristics. By interpreting the roles of these planets and their qualities (the elements, signs and houses) and creating a synthesis, astrology is able to present a complete and comprehensive picture of the person and his potential, based on the natal horoscope.
A horoscope, or birth chart, is a personal map; it tracks, in the case of your own natal chart, the planetary influences affecting your exact birthplace, at the very moment you took your first breath. Drawn in a map as unique as your fingerprints, these influences find expression in the course you take throughout the whole of your life.
The symbols drawn in your horoscope express deep meanings in a sort of cosmic shorthand. Astrologers use these symbols as a key to the understanding of your character, personality and relationships. A horoscope can be drawn up for the moment of birth of not just a person, but also a project, an event, a business, even a country.
It educates you about your present, and prepares you for the future. You learn when and how to take advantage of the auspicious opportunities that come your way; and you learn how to minimize the impact of the less fortunate cycles.
